Act Now for the UN Sustainable Development Goals

New teaching materials coming in autumn 2022!

Get ideas on how to implement the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals in your STEM lessons.

SDG in STEM Education

What is it about?

Sustainability and environmental protection are important topics for students throughout Europe. How we deal with these issues will shape our future.

Motivated and skilled teachers are the key to enabling students to meet the challenges of tomorrow. They communicate important knowledge to students in order for them to not only understand the problems but also think about possible solutions.

In the upcoming, completely digital materials, 20 teachers from 11 countries present tested teaching concepts and ideas on how to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in STEM lessons. The materials are concrete and hands-on and encourage students to become active and responsible citizens while promoting their interest in STEM subjects.

From primary to secondary school, students explore different sustainability topics which can be implemented in different subjects or in an interdisciplinary way. They can explore climate change and the weather, produce sustainable materials, investigate everything about apples or develop and code environmental measuring stations, among other things.

Why completely digital teaching material?

Many new educational tools can't be put on paper and this new teaching material will use many of them to inspire and support teachers.

You will find everything from interactive worksheets, you can use directly with your students, how-to videos for teachers and students to coding tutorials. The material will be mobile-friendly and usable in common browsers with all the advantages this brings (automatic translation, screen reader, etc.). There is no need to install special programs to read the material or use the interactive elements.

Will there be a competition again?

Yes, we are happy to announce that after the European STEM League and the European Code League, there will be a competition putting the SDGs in STEM Education front and centre. Application will open with the publication of the materials. Follow us on social media or subscribe to our newsletter to keep informed.
